  1. A new Good Neighbor Program will focus on providing interventions and services at "properties with high numbers of 911, 311 calls" due to nuisance issues that include mental health, disturbances, property crimes, animals, drug overdoses and homelessness. "Documents state the Pilot Program will start by addressing the top 20 addresses by June 1, 2023." Visit KENS5 for more details.
  2. An Eisenhower Middle School student was lured into a stranger's vehicle on her way to school, and asked to do sexual favors. The stranger told the student he knew her family. After the student refused to do anything with the perpetrator several times, she was dropped off at school, where she immediately reported the incident. Visit KENS5 for more details.
  3. The San Antonio Tenants Union will protest at the next city council meeting if Opportunity Home's board members continue to ignore complaints regarding lax security at its properties. Low-income housing is where crime has skyrocketed the most after "grant money from the pandemic-era CARES Act ran out" in December 2020. Opportunity Home stopped hiring security at some of its properties, which led to issues like, "the Alazan Apache-Courts, they’ve had a murder almost every month since last year" a tenant said. 4. A hidden GoPro camera was found in a classroom used as a dressing room at Brandeis High School, and "11 female ROTC cadets [who] were filmed while changing, although the district confirms that there were no images or video of the girls completely nude." One student was identified as the person likely responsible. Criminal charges are not being ruled out, though it's unknown what course the school district will pursue. 550 KTSA has the full story.
