  1. San Antonio paramedic Samuel Hudson died after suffering heart failure on March 15. Owner Denise Nogueira organized a fundraiser at her Jiu Jitsu gym, Brazilian Top Team Texas, to set up a trust fund for Hudson's two children. Hudson was a student and member at the gym. Next year Nogueira plans to host another fundraising event in Hudson's memory, with funds reserved for families in need. Learn more details at KENS5.
  2. "Bexar County Commissioners approved a policy that will guide how the county spends over $14 million it received from a statewide opioid settlement." $1.5 million was already spent on providing Narcan to the Sheriff's Department, creating a substance use coordinator position, and expanding the Casa Mia women's recovery center. Through Casa Mia, women are able to go through recovery, have their children cared for, and attend school. To read about some who are benefiting from this new policy, visit KSAT San Antonio.
  3. A Bexar County inmate died at a local hospital after having a medical episode in his cell. Forty-year-old Hector Lopez was found unresponsive in his cell on March 31 before noon. At 1:02 p.m., Lopez died at the hospital. The medical examiner does not have an exact cause of death at this time. This is an ongoing investigation and KSAT San Antonio will have future updates.
