The Burbank High School community will remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001, in a Patriots Day Ceremony. The JROTC Burbank Color Guard will raise the flag at 8:26 a.m. Burbank student soloist Victor Mireles III will sing the national anthem.

Moments of silence will be held at 8:46 a.m. and 9:03 a.m., which marks the times when the planes struck the World Trade Center Towers in New York City. 

Guest speaker Sergeant Major Melvin Cooper Sr. of Fort Sam Houston will address those in attendance. The program includes National Minutes of Remembrance and the laying of a wreath. Taps will be played by 1969 Burbank graduate and U.S. Army Vietnam veteran Raymond Gutierrez. 

Guests will gather outside of Burbank High School at the flagpole, located at the second entrance to the school near the auditorium.
