Here are the top stories today in San Antonio:

  1. San Antonio's own, Dawson Wayne, advanced to the Top 26 on 'American Idol' on Monday night's episode. Wayne received a standing ovation from judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry. He focuses on storytelling through his music and said, “I don’t pretend I’m the biggest voice, but I feel like I can really put in emotion and really just try to connect with people.” Wayne's next audition will take place in Hawaii. Check with KSAT San Antonio for more details on how to vote and when to watch.
  2. A shooting on the 500 block of Robinhood Place injured three people. The victims were ages 1, 2, and 28. The children are believed to belong to the 28-year-old woman, and the 50-year-old shooter is believed to be the partner of the woman. An 8-year-old and 11-year-old were also in the home at the time of the incident but managed to escape by breaking windows and exiting the home. The three victims were all in surgery with the latest update. Check back with KENS5 as this is an ongoing investigation.
  3. A relatively new NEISD school board trustee was called out about child abuse allegations at Monday's meeting. According to court documents, Marsha Landry is accused of "hitting her stepson in the head and calling him "her slave". The documents also accuses Landry of denying food to the child when he forgot his lunch money." Landry's husband is also accused of child abuse towards the same child. Marsha nor her husband had any comment except for Marsha feeling humbled by the support received in her defense against the current allegations. Stop by WOAI for more.
