The Cybersecurity Council has been working with the City of San Antonio and CPS Energy as they prepared to open their new Alamo Regional Security Operations Center (ARSOC), located at the Port San Antonio.  The ribbon cutting ceremony for the ARSOC was Friday, and Richard Perez along with several Chamber volunteer leaders and staff attended to show the Chamber’s support.  The security operation center is a centralized facility where people, technology, and companies continuously monitor and improve security while preventing, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity incidents.

The ribbon cutting was just the beginning of the Cybersecurity Council’s help to the ARSOC that started in March 2021, when Patsy Boozer, City of San Antonio Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) described all of the efforts surrounding the ARSOC and how council members could help.  Now that the facility is at initial operating capability, the City and CPS want to expand partnerships with the private sector to build a more cohesive and collaborative approach to cybersecurity and dealing with cyber-related incidents.  The Cybersecurity Council will continue to assist in these efforts and help make the ARSOC a showcase and an example for the nation.
