  1. As polar as the weather has been these past few years, this weekend is no exception to that. Cold weather is back briefly until Tuesday, when it will begin to warm up. Don't put away all your winter clothes yet as, "you'll want to bundle up if you plan to be outdoors early with wind chills in the 30s. Brr...! High temperatures Friday will only be in the 50s." The much needed rain is welcomed as San Antonio has been experiencing extreme drought. Check with KENS5 for more on the future forecast.
  2. Investigators are searching for 20-year-old Daniel Michael Martinez, who is accused of sexual assault of a child. The 14-year-old victim thought that Martinez was younger after their chat on Instagram. "Martinez picked her up in a vehicle, and that’s where the sexual assault occurred, according to deputies." The victim then reported the incident. Martinez has another warrant out for aggravated sexual assault of a child, along with this recent warrant. KSAT San Antonio has the full scoop on this story.
  3. City forester Michael Holinsky has ideas to make San Antonio a greener and more zen place with tree planting and maintenance. Holinsky has had a life-long passion for trees since childhood. His priority is street planting, noting: “That's where our heat islands are, so shading that — reducing the ambient temperature — [is the goal]. There’s a whole lot of benefits that come along with street trees, including ... shielding pedestrians from street traffic … habitat for animals [and] property value increase."
