  1. About 20 percent of the homeless population in Bexar County are domestic violence survivors. According to WOAI, the rising costs are pricing families out of affordable housing. Case Manager Fred Perez of Fair Weather Family Lodge said, "Texas turned away 39 percent of domestic violence survivors seeking shelter due to space constraints. He adds they help survivors in many ways and that finding safe and affordable housing is a priority."
  2. A San Antonio man was on the run for three years in Mexico. The trial begins for Ontiveros, who is accused of killing ex-girlfriend, "Marissa Jernigan on June 8, 2019." Even after her death, Ontiveros posted illicit photos and videos online of Jernigan, as a way to taunt her family. He was arrested in Piedras Negras, Mexico. If Ontiveros is found guilty, he could face life in prison. KSAT San Antonio has the full story.
  3. Did you notice the summer haze today in San Antonio? It's due to smoke from Mexico as their agricultural burning that enhances crops for growth through the seasons. The burning can degrade air quality, more so for people with sensitivities. The haze is able to be seen visibly due to "thick humidity, low clouds, and smoke." Check with KSAT San Antonio for more weather updates.
