🌱 Texas Firms Collab To Design $2.5 Billion Airport + Gambling Bust

  1. On Thursday evening, police were called to a shooting on the 535 block of Acme Rd. Two women in their twenties were sitting in their vehicle when three male suspects approached the vehicle and threw a large rock on their windshield. In response, one woman began shooting at the perpetrators. The men fled the scene and police are still searching for them. Authorities believe a suspect may be wounded following a trail of blood. The incident is believed to be between groups that know each other. WOAI has more on this story.
  2. Dallas-based Corgan Associates and San Antonio-based Lake|Flato will work together on designing the $2.5 billion airport terminal. Both companies have impressive portfolios where Lake|Flato has done work throughout important places in San Antonio - Corgan Associates spans work in China, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Nashville. Both want the new airport space to represent a "sense of place" for visitors traveling through. Stop by KENS5 for more details.
  3. Bexar County Sheriffs made arrests for illegal gambling on the 200 block of Menefee Blvd. Thursday morning. 12 people tried to flee the scene and forced themselves into a nearby residence where families and children were. There were "40 gambling machines, cash and a few weapons have been recovered, officials said." All arrested are facing various charges, guns and drugs were found, and four people are going to jail for operating the gambling entity. KENS5 has the full scoop.
