  1. A 1-year old child was hit by a car and critically injured. According to police, the mother of the child was involved in a disturbance at a store on the 5100 block of South Flores Street around 4 p.m. Unbeknownst to the mother, the 1-year old got out of the car and was struck by another vehicle. "Charges are not expected to be filed against the driver since they stopped to render aid." Check back with KSAT San Antonio for updates on this story.
  2. A teen boy is in critical condition after being stabbed near John Jay High School. Video surveillance from a cafe on Marbach Road showed that the incident happened around 2 p.m. between a John Jay High School student and an unknown suspect. During what looked like an argument between the two, the suspect stabbed the victim with a cutting tool. The school was briefly placed on lockdown with parents notified. Police are still searching for the suspect. To learn more, visit KENS5.
  3. What is urban foraging? If you ever picked pecans in local parks, or used produce from a backyard garden, that's part of urban foraging. Chef Adán Medrano said,"If San Antonians were to look around where they walk, where they ride their bike, they would reconnect with what our ancestors knew as not just sustenance, but as relatives, because they are so close to us." Walking around, identifying and collecting wild food is all part of the process. See what other enthusiasts are saying about foraging at the San Antonio Current.
