ACROSS AMERICA — If the minimalist in you is yearning to declutter and downsize or if you’re just someone who wants to live off the grid, a tiny home might be the ticket.
About 63 percent of millennials would consider buying a tiny house, according to a 2022 survey by ComfyLiving, an online company offering home renovation and do-it-yourself ideas.
Living in a tiny house means giving up space. That’s part of the appeal for some people, but a sacrifice others are willing to make to get a better price. Homeownership is expensive. A September home sales report from the National Association of Realtors put the median cost of a single-family home at $399,200, up 2.5 percent from September 2022.

About 68 percent of people who live in tiny homes own them outright and have no mortgage, according to tiny house mortgage facts.
