Costco Shoppers Urged To Check Bottled Drink After Recall
Customers are being asked to check their bottles for a specific lot code linked to potential contamination.

Costco members in Texas and Louisiana who recently bought Topo Chico Mineral Water should check their packaging carefully. The Coca-Cola Company has issued a voluntary recall of certain 18-packs of Topo Chico Mineral Water (16.9oz or 500mL glass bottles) over concerns that the product may be contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a bacteria that can occur naturally in water.
The recall was first communicated to Costoc members in a letter dated June 2 and applies only to Item number 1439351, sold between May 20 and May 29.
According to the notice, the presence of Pseudomonas was detected in a limited quantity of the product.

While the risk to healthy individuals is considered "very low," Coca-Cola notes that people with weakened immune systems could experience minor health effects if they consume the affected mineral water.
The company emphasizes that product safety and quality remain a top priority.

What To Look For
The recall specifically concerns Topo Chico bottles labeled with Lot Code number 13A2541. This code is printed on both the case packaging and the neck of each glass bottle.
If you or someone in your household purchased this item during the specified timeframe, it's important to inspect the lot code carefully before consuming.
If your product matches the lot number, you should not drink the water.
What To Do If You Have It
Costco members who purchased the recalled Topo Chico should return the product to their local Costco warehouse. Customers will receive a full refund upon return of the recalled product.
If you have any questions about the recall, Coca-Cola has made its customer service hotline available. Members can call 1-800-GET-COKE (1-800-438-2653) for additional information.
Why It Matters
Though Pseudomonas is naturally found in water sources, including mineral water, it typically doesn’t pose a threat to healthy individuals. However, because of the potential for complications in those with compromised immune systems, the company has taken a proactive approach by initiating this voluntary recall.
This recall does not apply to all Topo Chico products or even to all 18-packs sold recently. Only those with Lot Code Number 13A2541 are recalled. The batch appears to have been distributed to a limited number of locations over a short period.
Stay safe, and when in doubt, give Coca-Cola a call at 1-800-GET-COKE.
