Obama's Record-Breaking Tweet • Trump's Wild Press Conference • Hate Groups Are Everywhere: Patch Morning Briefing
Also: dogs turning blue, inquiry into death at Democratic donor's home, a tour of Miley Cyrus' house and more.

Good morning! It's Wednesday, the halfway point of the week. Here's what you need to know to start the day.
American Hate Groups
As Americans continue to come to grips with the violence unleashed at a white supremacist rally last weekend, hate groups of many kinds persist in every state of the nation. A map of these groups created by the Southern Poverty Law Center shows the locations of more than 900 such organizations. "All hate groups have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics," the SPLC explains. (Patch)

President Trump: Neo-Nazis Bad, But 'What About The Alt-Left?'
He wasn't supposed to take any questions. The only agenda item on his docket was a discussion of infrastructure policy. But instead, President Trump succumbed to his urge to respond to reporters' questioning and unleashed a tirade against the media and the counter-protesters who gathered in Charlottesville over the weekend. He threw the power of his office behind a remarkable defense of those gathered for a white supremacist protest that ended with the death of a woman run over by an alleged Nazi sympathizer. Watch a replay of his remarks. (Patch)

President Obama's Charlottesville Tweet Is The Most Liked In History
As President Trump spars with the media and commentariat about the appropriate reaction to racist violence in Charlottesville, President Obama's response to the chaos has become the most-liked tweet in history. With a simple quote from Nelson Mandela, the South African leader who pulled the country out from the depths of apartheid, Obama expressed belief in the innate goodness of humanity and in the artificiality of racism and hate. But perhaps the most affecting part of the message was the picture he shared along with it. (Patch)
