The Heartfelt Father's Day Gift You Can't Get In Stores

Give Dad a gift as special as he is this Father's Day! Write him a note, send it our way and we'll feature it on Patch come June 17.

Father's Day is June 17, and while planning the ultimate backyard barbecue or hunting down the perfect dad-worthy gifts are great gestures, nothing is guaranteed to make your old man smile (or possibly shed a tear) quite like a thank you from the heart.

Our dads have played so many important roles in our lives. They've supported us at those sometimes painful little league games or dance recitals, they've lent a hand when we had car troubles and they continue to be a shoulder to cry on when things get tough. So although we can never truly repay our fathers for all the love they've shown us, we sure can try.

That's why this Father's Day, we're helping you give Dad the big thank you he deserves — and, no, we're not talking about a drugstore greeting-card. From now until June 8, we're inviting Patch readers to write a letter to their dad, so we can feature it in your town's newsfeed come Father's Day.

Email us your Father's Day letter here.

This is your chance to tell your town how amazing your dad is, honor a father who is no longer with us or recognize that person in your life who has been like a father to you — all letters are welcome. Just be sure to include your name, hometown and a photo , and send it to locallove@patch.com by June 8. Happy Father's Day!

By sending us your photos, you give Patch the right to publish them along with your story.
