Josh Duggar Enters Rehab After Ashley Madison Cheating Scandal

The former reality star has checked into a long-term treatment center, according to his family.

Josh Duggar, the former 19 Kids and Counting reality star, has checked into a long-term treatment center after admitting he was a client of the cheating website Ashley Madison.

Duggar’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, said that they would “pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change,” according to a statement on the family’s website posted on Wednesday.

Duggar was outed after hackers released information on millions of the site’s users. Josh Duggar released a statement after he was linked to the site, saying ”I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife.”

Josh’s wife, Anna, has come under criticism for staying with her husband. In the family’s statement, Josh’s parents offered support for their daughter-in-law. “We will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future. During this time we continue to look to God—He is our rock and comfort. We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family.”

“As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear,” the statement said.

Josh Duggar recently resigned from his position at the Family Research Council after it was revealed that he was accused of molesting five underage girls as a teenager, including his two sisters, Jenna and Jill. Josh, 27, issued a statement after the allegations surfaced. “Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends,” he said, according to People magazine.

On Wednesday, porn star Danica Dillion told The Daily Mail that she was one of Josh’s clients, and that they had “scary rough” sex. She also said the trysts took place when his wife Anna was about five months pregnant with their fourth child.

Josh Duggar isn’t the only reality star caught up in the Ashley Madison scandal. The Daily Mail reported that Josh Taekman, the husband of Real Housewives of New York star Kristen Taekman, admitted to using the site. “I signed up for the site foolishly and ignorantly with a group of friends and I deeply apologize for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family,” he said in a statement to the media. “We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives.”

And Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, best known for The Jersey Shore, took to her Instagram account to deny reports that her husband, Jionni LaValle, had used the site. “He’s a stand up guy who loves his family more than anything in this world,” she wrote.
