Texas State Student Is Using a Barbie Jeep To Get Around Campus After DWI

Tara Monroe, a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, was recently arrested for drunk driving. Her father immediately took away her car and drove to campus to deliver her a bike to get around.

“I went and put my bike rack on my jeep and proceeded to drive to San Marcos,” Monte Monroe told local affiliate ABC 10. “And I told her, ‘The jeep’s mine. Here’s your bike. This is your new form of transportation.’”

Monroe, unhappy with the idea of riding a bike around campus, went on Craigslist and bought a Barbie jeep.

“Most people don’t find the things me and my friends do very funny, just immature, so I didn’t expect to get this big of a reaction,” Monroe told MySanAntonio.com. “People who don’t know me are shocked but my friends weren’t even surprised because I do stuff like this all the time.”
