These 48 Top Colleges Are Still Accepting Students As Clock Ticks On Application Deadlines

Most high school seniors have decided on colleges. For those who haven't competition for elite schools can be fierce, but there are options.

Now that the May 1 “decision day” deadline has passed, and most high school seniors have already made their choices on where to attend college in the fall, those who haven’t are likely to face difficulty getting into elite schools, according to Forbes.

Ivy League schools are rejecting about 19 of every 20 applications — and there’s strong evidence employers are turning away from the Ivies — but there are still some great options, Forbes said.

The respected financial news outlet’s “48 Great Colleges Here And Abroad That Are Still Accepting Applications” includes 27 U.S. schools. Students who receive financial aid make up a majority of those enrolled. In many cases, more than 90 percent of students receive financial aid, and in a handful of them, all students receive financial aid. Colleges by state are:

The list also has international colleges in Canada, Ireland, Israel and the United Kingdom.

Forbes said that as of Wednesday, 281 colleges reported to the National Association for College Admissions Counselors that they’re still accepting applications from incoming freshmen this fall, Forbes reported.
