NASA is offering viewers across the country the opportunity to get a unique look at the rare astronomical event.

NEW YORK, NY — Suppose you're not in the "path of totality" for Monday's upcoming solar eclipse, but you still want to watch the astronomical phenomenon. What should you do to watch the solar eclipse safely?
One option is wearing the famous "eclipse glasses" — though you need be sure you pick up a certified, NASA-approved, non-defective pair. You can also use the old-fashioned pinhole method, as described by the American Astronomical Society. People with special eye concerns should, of course, consult their doctors before viewing the eclipse, even with safety precautions. "Additionally, a partial eclipse will be viewable across all of North America. The eclipse will provide a unique opportunity to study the sun, Earth, moon and their interaction because of the eclipse’s long path over land coast to coast."
