Annandale Teens Lead Officers on Foot Chase: Police

At least one teen faces obstruction of justice, possession of a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- An Annandale teen is facing charges after leading police on a chase on foot Saturday night in the Annandale area, according to Fairfax County Police.

The incident started in the 7600 block of Little River Turnpike Saturday night around 11:06 p.m., according to police.

Officers observed two men walking in and out of traffic lanes and attempted to stop the men when they fled, police said. Officers were able to apprehend one suspect who had discarded narcotics and a weapon.

Mikiyas Girma, 18, of Annandale was arrested and taken to the adult detention center and charged with obstruction of justice, possession of a concealed weapon, and possession of marijuana. A petition was obtained for the second suspect, a 16-year-old male from Annandale.
