Man Dies After Falling from a Tree in Lincolnia Area

A 21-year-old man died after falling from a tree Tuesday in the Lincolnia area of Mason District in Alexandria, according to police.

Police were called to the 5100 block of Chowan Avenue around 9:17 a.m. after receiving a call about a man falling from a tree.

The man, Jassiel Moyoraga Benavidez, of no fixed address, was dead by the time police arrived on scene, according to a news release from police. Police do not suspect foul play.

The cause of Benavidez's death has yet to be officially determined by Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
