Sobriety Checkpoints Set for This Weekend in Fairfax County

Police will be on the lookout for impaired drivers in two police districts Friday and Saturday nights.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police announced Wednesday that there will be a sobriety checkpoint conducted Friday night, June 3, in the Mason Police District and Saturday, June 4, in the Franconia Police District.

Friday night

The first checkpoint will take place Friday night, from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., but police do not disclose the exact location beforehand. The Mason Police District is approximately 20 square miles. It includes the areas south of Arlington Boulevard and north of Little River Turnpike. It contains Baileys Crossroads, Seven Corners, Mason District Park, Annandale, Fairfax Hospital.

Saturday night

There will also be a sobriety checkpoint Saturday, June 4, in the Franconia District from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.  The Franconia Police District includes parts of Annandale, Springfield, Lorton, Little River Turnpike south to Mason Neck and I-95 east to Telegraph Road.
