Havabite Eatery To Close Main Street Restaurant In Old Town Fairfax
Havabite Eatery's owners plan to close the doors of their family-run restaurant in Old Town Fairfax at the end of March.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Havabite Eatery, which has been serving Greek, Italian and American food in Old Town Fairfax since 1978, will be closing its doors on March 31 and moving to another location.
“Our business has been a pillar in the Old-Town Fairfax City community for the past 47 years,” according to a post on the restaurant’s website. “We started from nothing and step-by-step, year-by-year, we have built a reputation, a faithful clientele, and an embedded place in the heart of this town. We've seen children grown into adults, families expand, and the city thrive. Old-Town Fairfax City isn't just our business location, it is our home.”
The current location at 10416 Main St. is no longer feasible and the owners are looking for a newer location in Old Town, according to the website. Customers are invited to sign a petition to “help preserve heritage and stability of Old-Town Fairfax" and "Keep Our Local Business."

“Fairfax City, known for its rich history and diverse business community, has always been a city that supports local businesses,” according to the petition. “Our enterprise has contributed to the local economy, provided employment, and served local residents all these years. According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses like ours constitute about 44 percent of U.S. economic activity, underscoring the significant impact we have on our local communities (SBA, 2020).
“However, the reality we face now is threatening our existence in this beloved town. The intrinsic value we bear in the fabric of Fairfax City transcends profits and losses. We — just like so many small businesses — are a representation of the American Dream, the spirit of entrepreneurship, and the backbone of our economy.
“Therefore, we are turning to you, the community that has known and grown with us. We are asking for your support in making voices heard that we wish to remain in Old-Town Fairfax City. Together, we can weave a narrative of economic sustainability, shared history, and communal growth.
"Stand with us in our mission to remain in Old-Town Fairfax City. Retain the character, stability, and heritage of this town by signing this petition today."
