Local Jazzercise with Yhomi exercise classes have added new times, to accommodate those with a busy morning or evening schedule, such as moms who need to do morning school drop-off, those who have a long evening commute, and others. Now, her popular Jazzercise classes will be offered at 9:45 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at the Mott Community Center near Braddock Road and the Fairfax County Parkway. The 60-minute class includes a warm-up, high-energy aerobic routines, muscle toning, and a cool-down stretch segment, and combines elements of dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kick-boxing and more. It's Harley time! Patriot Harley-Davidson of Fairfax City invites riders to come test-drive the new models and see added features this Saturday at their store, located at 9739 Lee Hwy. Contact the store now to make your appointment. For more information, click here.
The City of Fairfax Police Department, in conjunction with the Optimist Club of Fairfax, will be offering Safe Assured identification kits for children next Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the City of Fairfax Police Headquarters, located at 3730 Old Lee Highway. Parents will receive a full-color photo ID and a mini-CD that contains digital fingerprints, a digital photo, video showing movement and mannerisms, a general physical description, vital personal information, and a family code word. Private information is encrypted and can be accessed only by law enforcement personnel. Missing person posters can be created and printed directly from the CD in English, Spanish and French.
