MD Man Identified As Victim In Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash In Fairfax

A 34-year-old man from Maryland was killed when his car struck a tree Wednesday in the Wakefield area, according to police.

FAIRFAX, VA — A 34-year-old man from Maryland was killed midday on Wednesday when the car he was driving crashed into a tree in the Wakefield area of Fairfax, according to authorities.

Fairfax County Police dispatched officers around 12:11 p.m. for the report of a single-vehicle crash in the 3700 block of Prosperity Avenue, according to police.

Investigators determined that a 2014 Toyota Avalon being driven by Dhameer Adams left the roadway and struck a tree. Adams was declared deceased on the scene.

Detectives believe that speed was a factor in the crash, and continue to investigate whether alcohol may also have contributed to the collision.
