1. Carnivores, rejoice – Fairfax City will soon be home to The Meat House. Management for the Turnpike Shopping Center at Main Street and Pickett Road recently confirmed that a lease has been signed, and the premium meat deli store is expected to open soon, during the fourth quarter of 2013.

2. Have you been curious what this “pop-up art gallery” you’ve been hearing about around Old Town is all about? Well, this Saturday night is your last chance to find out. This Saturday, July 27, 6-9 p.m., is the final exhibit opening for the temporary Metropolitan Art Project, a “pop-up” gallery that took up shop at 10409-A Main St. for just six weeks this summer – and that six weeks is just about up. The final exhibit is titled “Eclipse: The Finale” and features the works of artists Dagmar Crosby, Jackie Inglefield, Joseph Bradley, Rachel Hrbek, and Art Project co-founder Robert Yi.
