Police Respond to Show 'n Tell, Shoppers Fight, Oak Place Ct. Burglary

Fairfax City Police responded to an Oak Place Court burglary, an inappropriate show 'n tell on Fairfax Boulevard, and a Shoppers fight last week. Read on for the details...

  • A Foxcroft Colony Condominiums resident called police after she noticed her wallet with cash, credit cards and identification missing from her unlocked parked vehicle. The items were taken sometime between 9-9:30 p.m. on Monday.
  • Shoppers Food Warehouse employees were in for a fight when they confronted three men holding backpacks (concealed by jackets) stuffed with store mechandise. The suspects fought the manager and two staffers before leaving in a vehicle shortly before 9:35 p.m. Monday.
  • A Fairhaven Court resident told police last Friday that a former roommate had borrowed the victim's 2007 Toyota Camry, only to sell it to someone else before leaving the country.
  • Joy Unlimited's owner contacted police last Friday after noticing someone had stolen cash from a bank bag left in the store's back room. The owner said the cash had been taken on Feb. 18.
  • Ja’Micheal Lindsey, 21, of Manassas was arrested for allegedly attempting to leave K-Mart without paying for a watch last Friday. A security officer saw him leaving the store with a watch in his coat pocket. Lindsey was confronted and security officers recovered the watch. He was charged with felony petit larceny third or subsequent offense.
  • A 29-year-old Fairfax area woman got more than she expected when she stopped at a Fairfax Boulevard intersection east of Chain Bridge Road Friday afternoon. While waiting for the red light, a man in a vehicle stopped beside hers and exposed himself.
  • Two teens were taken into custody by police Sunday after they allegedly entered a home on the 10500 block of Oak Place Court and left with cash and other items. A 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female (from from Fairfax area) didn't get far from the scene. They were charged on juvenile petitions with burglary and taken to the juvenile Less Secure Shelter.
  • Rashid Omer Islam, 22, of Allison Circle, was arrested on Sunday after allegedly driving his vehicle into two signs and fleeing the area by foot before police arrived. Officers found the vehicle in a wooded area, its driver not far from it. Islam refused to heed officers' commands to stop. A K-9 team located him. He was charged with eluding police, misdemeanor hit and run, and driving under the influence.
