Empty Kingstowne Blockbuster. While in Kingstowne on Wednesday, I noticed the old Blockbuster space is still empty. The video store closed for good back in March. Phone calls and emails to the Halle Companies about the space have gone unanswered. So tell Patch what you want business you would like to see take the old video store's place.

George Gershwin’s greatest. It’s too darn hot, but cool down with some classic Americana. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra plays George Gershwin’s greatest hits at 8 p.m., Strathmore Hall, 5301 Tuckerman Lane in Bethesda, Md. Tickets cost $25 to $45. Show up an hour early for complimentary wine samples and live music.

Kids Rock. National Harbor is hosting kids’ band Milkshake for free concerts at 10 a.m. and noon at the Carousel at National Harbor.
