Inaugural Blossom Fest Planned For April 8 At Springfield Town Center
Springfield Town Center is holding a Blossom Fest on April 8 as part of its new partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — Springfield Town Center is holding its inaugural Blossom Fest on Saturday, April 8 as part of its new partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival organization.
The celebration will take place outside of Springfield Town Center’s main entrance near Yard House. The event was originally scheduled to take place on April 1 but got pushed back to April 8 due to the weather forecast.
Blossom Fest will include more than 40 community vendors ranging from handmade craft vendors to home remodeling companies to health and wellness vendors. Several food trucks will be participating, including Empanadas De Mendoza, Supreme Kabob and KONA Ice.

The celebration will also include family-friendly entertainment.
“We are thrilled to be able to partner with the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C.,” Springfield Town Center Marketing Director Justin Roth said in a statement. “The DMV is full of cherry blossom-related activities and we are excited to be able to add to the events here in Northern Virginia.”

Springfield Town Center is also participating in the National Cherry Blossom Festival’s City In Bloom program, which includes the Cherry Blossom decals placed on the center’s Grand Entrance.
"As the Festival continues to bloom beyond the Tidal Basin, we are thrilled that Springfield Town Center is bringing the joy of the blossoms to the community in Northern Virginia," said Diana Mayhew, National Cherry Blossom Festival president and CEO.
The Blossom Fest at Springfield Town Center will take place on April 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The schedule of events includes:
- DJ Luis with Exclusively Entertainment: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Build-Your-Own-Blossom with LEGO Discovery Center, Washington DC: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Princess appearances with free selfie booth: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Face Painting and Balloon Twisting: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Kid’s Bounce House: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Miss McLean Teen USA Caroline Kern Appearance: noon to 2 p.m.
- Performances by Metropolitan School of the Arts including Cinderella: 2 p.m.
- N Tyme Jazz Ensemble: 4 p.m.
Springfield Town Center, located at 6500 Springfield Mall in Springfield, is anchored by Target, JCPenney, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Regal Cinemas.
