Motorcyclist's Condition Improves After Crash In Springfield: Police

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday night in a crash on the Franconia-Springfield Parkway, according to Fairfax County police.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday night in a crash on the Franconia-Springfield Parkway, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The man on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with injuries considered life-threatening after the crash, which occurred around 7:30 p.m., police said. The roadway was closed to traffic so detectives from the police department’s crash reconstruction unit could investigate the crash.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Franconia-Springfield Parkway and Spring Valley Drive.

By 9:30 p.m., the roadway had reopened and police announced that the motorcyclist’s condition had improved and that he was no longer in a life-threatening condition. The man remained at the hospital for treatment, police said.
