Police Investigating Thefts of Six ATM Units Across Fairfax County
Latest theft took place this week; suspects steal machines in stolen cars and then abandon cars nearby.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Detectives from the Fairfax County Police are investigating a series of ATM thefts that have been occurring around the region, including Fairfax County, police announced Friday.
Between June 18 and July 20, there were six reported cases, police said. The thefts have taken place across the county, in the Franconia, Mount Vernon, Mason and Sully Police districts.
An investigation determined in all cases, the suspects utilized stolen vehicles to carry out ATM thefts from various businesses in the early morning hours. The suspects later abandon the stolen vehicles nearby and flee the area, according to police.

In all cases, the suspects were described as black, approximately 175 to 200 pounds, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and wore dark-colored clothing with their faces covered, police said.
