Road In Newington Closed For 5 Weeks For Bridge Repairs
The Alban Road bridge over Accotink Creek in Newington will be closed to traffic for about five weeks Saturday, Aug. 13, according to VDOT.
NEWINGTON, VA — The Alban Road bridge over Accotink Creek in Newington, adjacent to Interstate 95, will be closed to traffic for about five weeks starting Saturday, Aug. 13 as the Virginia Department of Transportation conducts repairs on the bridge.
Traffic will be detoured on Alban Road, Rolling Road (Route 638), Fullerton Road (Route 4502) and Boudinot Drive back to Alban Road.
Members of the public who need to reach properties along Alban Road will have access, VDOT said. But they will need to use the detours because traffic will not be able to go beyond the bridge in either direction, VDOT said.
