Suspect In Road Rage-Fueled Shooting Sought By VA State Police
Virginia State Police are trying to identify and locate a man they say shot a driver who may have cut him off June 11 on southbound I-495.

FAIRFAX, VA — Virginia State Police are asking the public's help in identifying a suspect in a June 11 road-rage incident that began on I-495 in Fairfax County and ended with a shooting on the shoulder of the highway, according to authorities.
The incident began around 9:12 a.m. on southbound I-45 near the exit for Little River Turnpike/Route 236, when the victim, who was driving a brown 1999 Chevy Suburban, may have cut off a black BMW 5-series sedan driven by the suspect, according to police.

"The two vehicles continued driving until they pulled off onto the shoulder where Interstates 395, 495, and Route 644 all meet," the incident report says. "Once the vehicles were on the shoulder, there was a confrontation, and the victim was shot once."
The suspect then drove off eastbound and exited I-495 at the Van Dorn Street exit in Kingstowne, according to police. The suspect had a small child with him in the BMW sedan.

The suspect was described by police as a Black man, who stood 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6 in height, wearing blue or green work pants and a white T-shirt.
The victim drove to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for an arm and leg injury, according to the incident report. Two teens were traveling in the Suburban with the victim during the incident.
