Thanksgiving Can the Bird 5K Turkey Trot Planned In Kingstowne
A 5K planned Thanksgiving morning run will take participants around Kingstowne Towne Center and Kingstowne Lake.

KINGSTOWNE, VA — If you want to avoid the guilt of a Thanksgiving feast, start your morning with a Thanksgiving run. The Mount Vernon Lee Chamber of Commerce will host the CAN the Bird 5K Turkey Trot in Kingstowne on Thursday, Nov. 25.
The 5K race will start at 8 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot at 5885 Kingstowne Boulevard, Alexandria, VA. Participants will run a course around Kingstowne Towne Center and Kingstowne Lake. The race will also end in the Walmart parking lot.
Medals will be given for first, second and third place for the overall men and women finishers as well as for 12 and under, 13 to 18, and master runners 50 and older. There will also be medals for best runner with a dog and best runner with a stroller.

The price of registration through Nov. 22 is $35 for adults, $30 for military, $24 for 25 and under, and $10 for 12 and under. Online registration will close at 8 p.m. on Nov. 22. Late registration will be available at packet pickup; stay tuned for details.
