WATCH: ATM Thefts in Fairfax County: Police Release Surveillance Video

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Detectives with Fairfax County Police are investigating a series of ATM thefts that have been occurring around the region and released a surveillance video Monday in hopes of finding the suspects.

Between June 18 and July 20, there were six reported cases, according to police. Five reported incidents involved stolen ATMs; one incident was a report of a stolen vehicle that detectives believe to be a part of the ATM thefts.

An investigation determined in all cases that suspects utilized stolen vehicles to carry out ATM thefts from various businesses in the early morning hours, police said. Further investigation determined the suspects later abandon the stolen vehicles nearby and flee the area.

In all cases, the suspects were described as black, approximately 175 to 200 pounds, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and wore dark-colored clothing with their faces covered, according to police.

One of the suspects is wearing a long black T-shirt, white gloves and white tennis shoes and has a paunchy stomach. The other suspect is thinner and was wearing darker gloves, a black long-sleeved T-shirt with a white design on the front and dark and light gray tennis shoes. The two load the ATM unit into what looksl like a commercial looking white van in the video.

VIDEO from FCPD: The suspects can be seen prying the business' doors open then using physical force to break the ATM from its place and slide it out of the store, police said.
