Wegmans to Offer Seasonal Samplings, How-to Cooking Techniques on Saturday

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Wegmans grocery store will be offering up some tasty seasonal favorites on Saturday, as well as handing out tips on how you can grill summer favorites at home. Here's the scoop, announced Monday by the store:

WHAT: “Taste the Season’s Best” at all Wegmans Food Markets. Stop by the stations throughout the store at this event to taste what Wegman's calls "the freshest and the best of the season." Learn from store employees grilling technique tips and tricks and try some samples.

WHEN: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday July 16

WHERE: All Wegmans Food Markets stores

Saturday, visit any Wegmans store to “Taste the Season’s Best” at this store-wide event. Customers can pick up a “passport” that will guide them throughout the store toward tasting and cooking demo stations. Live recipe prep will highlight the techniques for grilling vegetables that our chefs have developed and give customers the option to try products before they buy them. Check out this how-to video: wegmans.com/grilling veggies. Customers can also enter a drawing to win a gift bag filled with all of the items needed to enjoy the store's Veggie Superstars. Children can join the fun with a special activity sheet and temporary tattoos.

Samples will be offered in a variety of departments, some of the highlights include:

• Grilled Lemongrass Pork Chops (Meat Dept.)
• Ready-To-Cook Cedar-Plank Salmon (Seafood Dept.)
• Veggie Noodles with Pesto (Produce Dept.)
• Organic Super Greens Salad (Grocery Dept.)
