  1. Members of the Lynchburg City Republican Committee have issued a censure against Vice Mayor Chris Faraldi, accusing him of conduct that did not meet their expectations. The resolution specifically mentions an incident during a city council meeting where Faraldi allegedly prevented debate on a resolution regarding training on racism and sexism for city employees. It also refers to an earlier incident in which Faraldi purportedly asked a law enforcement officer to spy on another council member, Jeff Helgeson. (WSLS)
  2. Ulta, a popular beauty retailer, is set to open its doors in Lynchburg at the River Ridge shopping center. The grand opening is scheduled for Jul. 14, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a "Full Experience Store" format with a salon, a Beauty Bar, and a Benefit Brow Artist. Additionally, customers can enjoy a 20 percent discount on qualifying purchases during the grand opening weekend. (ABC 13)
  3. The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about individuals listed on their weekly "Wednesday Wanted" list who have active warrants in the county.   • Kids aged two to five are invited to the Lynchburg Public Library (Main Branch) on Saturday, Jul. 8 for storytime! The reading will begin at 10:30 a.m. (Lynchburg Library Calendar)
  • Lynchburg Parks and Recreation is offering a children's dance class with available spots for registration. The four-week summer session is designed for dancers aged seven to 12 and focuses on tap dancing. The class will progress gradually, introducing more complex combinations and choreography each week, with steps modified to accommodate individual skill levels. Tap shoes are required, and a short performance for friends and family will be held on the last day of class. (Lynchburg Parks and Recreation via Facebook)
  • Join the Lynchburg Parks and Recreation department for beginner and intermediate pottery classes, with the chance to learn and create in a studio setting. Beginner potters will be introduced to hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques, while intermediate potters can work on their independent projects.
