Liberty University's cooking demos continue to be a hit this spring semester, with a standout student showcasing the value of these events

Liberty University Dining's cooking demonstrations continue to be a hit this spring semester, with a standout student showcasing the value of these engaging classes.

Reece Mininger, a dedicated commuter student at Liberty University, has found immense value in attending every demonstration. His enthusiasm stems from discovering new cooking techniques and recipes that have empowered him to cook more often as a commuter. "I loved how much I learned in the first class. I thought I knew a lot about cooking and found out there was something new to learn, and it was very engaging and fun," shared Reece.

For the most recent demonstration, Regional Chef Sarah Falls collaborated with Reece, allowing him to choose the menu theme. Reece's choice of German cuisine led to a delightful menu featuring Currywurst Bites, Cheese Spaetzle with Bohnensalat, and German Apple Cake.

"My grandmother, who is also from Germany, taught me everything I know about cooking. Whenever I cook, it brings back so many fond memories and makes me feel closer to home. Cooking has become a way for me to connect with others and share a piece of my childhood. I'm excited to showcase my love for German food and hopefully inspire others to try it too. After all, food has a way of bringing people together and creating unforgettable memories."

Cooking demonstrations at Liberty University not only impart essential life skills but also foster personal connections with students.
