  1. Lynchburg authorities are taking action to enhance safety measures at the troublesome intersection of 501 and 221 at Lakeside Drive following a recent string of accidents. The latest incident involved a dump truck plowing through a line of cars waiting at a red light, resulting in charges against the driver, James McDaniel. The city has acknowledged the urgent need to address the intersection's notoriety for accidents and plans to implement improvements aimed at optimizing traffic flow and ensuring the safety of both motorists and pedestrians.   2. Lynchburg Public Library is excited to host "LVA on the Go," a mobile exhibition in collaboration with The Library of Virginia on Jul. 22. Visitors can explore historical artifacts, genealogical records, and educational materials using state-of-the-art technology.   3. The Lynchburg Police Department is currently investigating an early morning shots fired incident that took place on Friday. Multiple shell casings were discovered and a vehicle was hit by gunfire in a parking lot on Wyndhurst Drive. Further investigation revealed that a residential property was also struck. Although no injuries were reported, the police are urging individuals with relevant doorbell camera footage to contact Detective Smith at 434-455-6167 or Crime Stoppers at 888-798-5900 to assist with the ongoing investigation.
