  1. In an exclusive interview on Friday, Lynchburg Police Chief Ryan Zuidema provided an update on the eagerly anticipated construction of their new headquarters. With completion scheduled for early 2025, the state-of-the-art facility is poised to rise on Odd Fellows Road, promising a significant boost to the force. Chief Zuidema expressed enthusiasm over the swift progress, highlighting how the modern infrastructure will address long-standing deficiencies and enhance the department's ability to serve the community.   • Lynchburg City Council’s Finance Committee meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, Jun. 27, has been canceled. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 3:00 p.m. in City Hall, 900 Church Street, Second Floor Training Room. (Lynchburg Government)
  • One of ABC 13's own, Mia Nelson, is set to showcase her ballet talent with a performance of "He's a Pirate" at the upcoming Miss Virginia Pageant, taking place from Jun. 29 to Jul. 1 at The Berglund Center in Roanoke.
