- The Appomattox community came together as Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church hosts a successful Rummage Sale and Craft Fair over Memorial Day Weekend, attracting over 500 attendees and receiving positive feedback from participants. The event not only provided great deals to visitors but also raised funds for worthy causes and fostered stronger connections between the church and the community. (Times Virginian)
- The father of a six-year-old child who was shot and killed in Lynchburg has spoken out, urging other fathers to cherish their children and go above and beyond for them. Christopher Campbell joined community leaders as part of the Safe Streets Initiative, aimed at reducing gun violence and violent crimes in the city. Lynchburg Peacemakers have been working with the family and residents of the Diamond Hill Neighborhood, implementing strategies such as neighborhood watch programs, trash clean-ups, and the installation of night vision cameras to enhance safety.
