Manassas Man Arrested, Accused of Stabbing Roommate To Death

Prince William police said the woman suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the scene.

MANASSAS, VA — A Manassas man is charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of his roommate, 60-year-old Gloria Jean Piper, according to a press release issued Tuesday by Prince William County police.

Willie Skyes Dawson, 68, of 8317 Rolling Rd. was taken into custody Tuesday in connection with the slaying which reportedly happened just before 9 p.m. on Monday.

Police said Dawson called police and said he'd found his roommate in bed suffering from multiple stab wounds to her upper body.

Prince William police homicide investigators later discovered Dawson and the victim were arguing earlier that day. The disagreement escalated and the suspect stabbed the victim to death. Piper was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The body of the victim is undergoing an autopsy at the medical examiner's office in Manassas.

Dawson is set to appear in court on Sept. 19.
