GAINESVILLE, VA — Bookseller Barnes & Noble is continuing to make a comeback with more store openings, and the latest will be in western Prince William County.

Barnes & Noble says it has found recent success in having local booksellers oversee bookstores. After more than 15 years of diminishing store numbers, The brand opened more bookstores in 2024 than altogether in a decade (2009 to 2019). Another 60-plus stores are in the works to open in 2025. Along with the Gainesville store, Barnes & Noble is opening new stores in Florida, Michigan and New York during March.
