MANASSAS, VA—A Virginia-based non-profit that helps people with disabilities get jobs and other opportunities has bought an area UPS store and plans to hire such folks. That's the word from Didlake Inc., which bought the store in the Center at Innovation, 9994 Sowder Village Square.

"We are thrilled with the opportunities the UPS Stores provide for employment and training," said Didlake vice president of corporate communications and marketing Erika Spalding in a release. "The new store will continue to provide great service to UPS Store customers in the area, and will also serve as a springboard for people with disabilities as they gain experience in the workforce."

It's the second UPS franchise owned by Didlake, which opened its first UPS store in 2015 at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge. Like that location, the Manassas store will employ approximately eight staffers, including those of varying abilities who will receive job training and work experience.
