Police: Intoxicated Man Drives Through Resident's Yard

An Arlington man is facing several charges after an intoxicated hit-and-run, according to the Manassas City Police.
Police responded to the 8600 block of Liberia Avenue around 11:45 p.m. Friday for a vehicle accident. The passenger of the suspect vehicle told police Carlton Spriggs, 41, drove through someone’s yard and hit a parked vehicle, the Manassas City Police report. The suspect vehicle wound up back on the street a few houses away from the scene.
When the owner of the house came outside and spoke with the passenger, Spriggs allegedly fled the scene on foot. He was located with the help of Prince William County Police and arrested.

Spriggs is charged with driving under the influence, refusal to take a blood or breath test, driving on a suspended operator’s license, and hit-and-run. He was held on a $20,000 bond and a court date of Feb. 24.
