Shooting Suspect Sought In Manassas: Police

A 31-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg on Sunday in Manassas, the city's police department said.

MANASSAS, VA — A man was shot in the leg in Manassas on Sunday, the city's police department said.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, received treatment at an area hospital.

Investigators have not identified any suspects in connection with the shooting. Authorities did not provide any description of the shooter in their report.

The shooting occurred around 4 p.m. on Sunday in the Brentwood neighborhood. When police officers arrived on the scene, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

"Officers began life-saving measures and summoned rescue personnel to the area," the Manassas City Police Department said in a report. "The victim was eventually transported to a local area hospital."

Authorities said the investigation took them to an apartment building on Devonshire Court. There, detectives interviewed several people and identified multiple "persons of interest."

"At this time the shooting does not appear to be random, and there is no threat to the community," the police department said.
