2025 General Election: Additional Early Voting Site To Open In Alexandria
The City of Alexandria will offer a second early voting site ahead of the November general election with key state races.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A second early voting location for the Nov. 4 general election will open Sunday in the City of Alexandria. The election includes key state races like governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and House of Delegates.
The Office of Voter Registration and Elections at 132 N Royal St, Suite 100 in Alexandria has been serving as the early voting location since Sept. 19. From Friday, Oct. 24 to Saturday, Nov. 1, Charles Beatley, Jr. Central Library at 5005 Duke Street in Alexandria will be an early voting location as well. An accepted form of ID is required to vote in person in Virginia.

All City of Alexandria voters will have Virginia governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general as well as a Virginia House of Delegates seat, Alexandria sheriff and Alexandria commonwealth's attorney on the ballot. Sample ballots are available from the Office of Voter Registration and Elections.
In the governor's race, Democrat Abigail Spanberger and Republican Winsome Earle-Sears are running. Democrat Ghazala Hashmi and Republican John Reid are running for lieutenant governor, and Democrat Jay Jones and Republican incumbent Jason Miyares are running for attorney general.
Other races are unopposed — Del. Alfonso Lopez for the 3rd House District, Del. Charniele Herring in the 4th House District, Elizabeth Bennett-Parker in the 5th House District, Bryan Porter for Commonwealth's Attorney and Sean Casey for sheriff.
For voters seeking a mail ballot, the deadline to request one is coming up at 5 p.m. on Oct. 24. To vote by mail, voters can apply through the Virginia Department of Election website with information like their Virginia Driver’s License or DMV-issued ID card, Social Security number, date of birth, address and contact information. A paper application can also be completed and sent by mail (132 North Royal St., Suite 100, Alexandria, VA 22314), fax (703-746-4540) or scanned email attachment (VoteAbsentee@alexandriava.gov).
Completed ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. on Nov. 4., and mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 4 and received by noon Friday on the Friday following the election. Ballots can be returned by mail, at a 24/7 drop box outside the Office of Voter Registration and Elections (132 North Royal St., Suite 100), at an early voting site during voting hours, or at any polling place on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The deadline for voter registration or updating your information is also Oct. 24. However, same-day registration is available in Virginia beyond the registration deadline, allowing voters to cast a provisional ballot. Check your registration status or register to vote through the Virginia Department of Elections citizen portal. Voters may also print and mail a paper voter registration application to the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 132 North Royal St., Suite 100, Alexandria, VA 22314.
Voters casting their ballot on Election Day can head to their assigned polling place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Use the Virginia Department of Elections citizen portal to find your polling place. An acceptable form of ID is required to vote in person.
