5 Reston Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season

Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.

5. Cindy's Legacy provides vital financial assistance and resources to cancer patients and their families.

For 55-years, the non-profit has provided emergency financial assistance to those who find themselves in a short-term crises. This includes paying rent so families don’t find themselves homeless or paying for utilities so they may stay warm. FISH also cooks meals, as well as pays for medical prescriptions and emergency dental work.
