ICYMI: Light the Night Walk Coming to Reston Town Center Oct. 3
The walk, one of 200 events held throughout North America, is part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's biggest annual fundraiser.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk is its biggest national fundraiser of the year, and Northern Virginia’s annual walk is fast approaching.
The event will take place at the Reston Town Center on Saturday, Oct. 3, beginning at 5 p.m. Community members can form fundraising teams or can walk as individuals, and their goal is to collect donations in support of their respective walks for charity that night.
Consumers in the area can also help by simply donating to the cause at retail outlets throughout Northern Virginia.

As of time of publication, the event in Reston has already raised more than $791,000, exceeding a goal set at $727,000. The money raised at walks across the country is used to fund treatments that are saving the lives of patients each and every day.
Community members often form teams inspired by someone who has battled or is currently battling one of these diseases. “Team Tom,” formed by Jennifer Keating, was created to honor Keating’s father, who died of chronic lymphoblastic leukemia.
