Recreation Classes Registration, Fort Ward's Future, a Dose of Moody Blues, Freemasons and Ha Ha at Ri Ra

What's going on around West End Alexandria and beyond Aug. 14.

Registration for City of Alexandria recreational fall classes begins Wednesday for city residents and Friday for nonresidents. You can register online, drop off an application or mail it in. See the city’s website for more details.

Are you interested in the future of Fort Ward? Stop by the regular meeting of the Fort Ward Advisory Group from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to hear what group members have on their minds. The meeting will be held in the library/media center at Minnie Howard, 3801 W. Braddock Rd. It’s free and anyone may attend.

Rock out with Moody Blues front man Justin Hayward with Mike Dawes at The Birchmere, 3701 Mount Vernon Ave., 703-549-7500. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and will call may be picked up at the box office as early as 5 p.m. $65 plus ticket fees.

It’s Ha Ha at Ri Ra, which means comedy night at Ri-Ra restaurant, 2915 Wilson Blvd. in Arlington. Laugh in the back room while enjoying half-price burgers and $3 Stellas. The show room opens at 7 p.m.
