Who Keeps Alexandria Beautiful? The City Wants to Know.

Alexandria is a beautiful city. Let’s honor those who help keep it that way.

The Alexandria Beautification Commission is seeking nominations for the 2013 Alexandria Beautification Awards. The awards recognize city residents, organizations and businesses for contributing to the beautification of neighborhoods and public vistas with landscaping and aesthetic design.

Nominations must be received by May 19. Read below for more details about submitting nominations.

Awards is presented in four categories: residential, commercial, public and service. Nominations are judged on the use of texture, color, plant material, neighborhood context, marked improvements and overall appearance. Nominated properties must be visible from the public right-of-way. Award winners will be recognized at the Beautification Awards Ceremony this September.
