Police Investigate Collision Involving Shooting, Stolen Vehicle
One person was arrested and another will be booked into jail once he is released from the hospital, according to the Seattle Police Dept.
SEATTLE, WA—Police continue to investigate a rollover collision and a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon near South Park.
Shortly after 4 p.m., police said a 61-year-old man, who police identified as the first suspect, was following his brother’s stolen vehicle as it was being driven through the South Park neighborhood. The man had a .45 caliber handgun and fired one time at the stolen vehicle, but struck his own vehicle’s side mirror.
Police said he continued to follow the stolen vehicle. Officers said the driver of the stolen vehicle, the second suspect, began to lose control of the vehicle as he drove across the 16th Avenue South Bridge. At some point, the driver of the stolen car struck an occupied truck driving on East Marginal Way South. The occupants inside the truck did not have any significant injuries, but the stolen vehicle rolled over and landed upside down on it’s roof.
